House windows 7 Working Slow? 4 Actions to generate Your House windows 7 Fly Immediately

February 14th, 2010 by seimes

windows 7 in VirtualBox on windows xp by nick see

Microsoft Windows is inherently uncool.

Sorry, its the truth.

But you can tweak your PC to make it look like a perfect blend of the Windows and Macintosh graphical interfaces.

First, you'll need Neowin's UXTheme Patcher. This patches the Windows dynamic link library file that relates to “themes,” or visual styles.

For clarification, to change between themes that come pre-installed, right click anywhere on your desktop and select properties. Make sure the Themes tab is checked.

From this tab, you can switch between the themes that come pre-installed with Windows – a Windows Classic interface that resembles Windows 98 and Windows 2000, or a new Windows XP theme.

Now, back to the UXTheme Patcher. This will alter Windows to accept themes that it normally would not accept – themes that are intended for third-party desktop altering software like WindowBlinds. The difference between this technique and WindowBlinds is that we aren't installing any unnecessary software – we are simply tweaking our PC.

After downloading and running the Neowin UXTheme Patcher, we will go download a cool theme. I prefer the Mac OS X Panther theme version 1.5. It is a very nicely done theme.

Download this theme, or any other theme you'd like from sites like WinCustomize.com. Now, its time to install our theme.

Unzip the theme and place the contents in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes. Now, go to your desktop and right click. Select properties and ensure that the Themes tab is selected. From the drop down box, pick “Browse…” and navigate to the folder you extracted the files to. Find the “.theme” file and double-click it. Your new theme should now appear in the drop-down box. Select it, and click okay.

You should see the magic start to happen.

One the process is finished, you have a nice new desktop interface. Very cool.

But do you like the task bar at the bottom or top? I prefer top. To move yours to the top, right click on the taskbar and ensure that “Lock the Taskbar” is not checked. Then left-click and drag the bar to the top of the screen.

On Macintosh systems, the bar appears on the top, but its really just a matter of preference.

If we stopped right now, that would be fine, but I want to make your desktop even better.

An excellent addition to your desktop is RocketDock. It's totally free, so what do you have to lose?

Download it right here.

Once installed, play with the settings to make it look how you want it to look.

As you scroll across the beautifully rendered icons, they pop up at you. It is a very beautiful program.

Now, the final touch to make your desktop look great: shadows on your windows. This adds depth and a great feel to an otherwise boring desktop.

Download it here.

You'll want to play with the settings of this program a lot too. Look below to see how mine looks. Note the transparent start menu and the nice shadows on the windows.

I hope you enjoy your new desktop!

The brand new line of computer systems will have a entire lot a lot more new functions and run a lot smoother while using newest Windows operating program. Older computers that will only operate XP will have to preserve their old working process. The new selection of PCs is significantly much better pc performance speed up had been for Vista.

Quickly Windows 7 – How to generate Home windows 7 Operate Faster Easily and Speedily!

February 10th, 2010 by seimes

Windows 7 - #5 by AaronHalford

A friend brought me his laptop to format it. The laptop has a valid windows 7 ultimate 32-bit serial key (it's a dell inspiron 1525). As you can see int he following image, I have the files from the windows 7 installation disc, for backup purposes

But anyway, my problem is, that I burned these files (as they are) to a DVD using the windows 7 burner application. It seems like the disc DOES contains the data as youc an see here

but the problem is, that when in the BIOS screen I hit F12, and then choose the DVD drive with the windows 7 disc inside, the installer won't boot.

What can I do?

Thanks to the power of hindsight, it’s now quite apparent that Windows Vista was hated by a large proportion of the people who came into contact with the beleaguered OS. In contrast, Windows 7 has been receiving almost endless praise (even before anyone outside of Microsoft was even running the OS). But lately I’ve noticed the tide turning, and the shine is beginning to tarnish on Windows 7’s previously immaculate halo?

Over the past few weeks, Windows 7 has been hit by several problems, which while being high profile, may or may not only exist in the minds of the users. There’s been the battery issue, where users claim that Windows 7 is causing battery deterioration, and on top of that claims that a reliability patch released by Microsoft is actually causing problems. According to Microsoft, the battery issue is a non-issue and Windows 7 is working normally, and the company is investigating claims that the reliability patch is causing BSoDs and startup/shutdown issues.

Windows 7 has been good for Microsoft, driving not only strong sales and profits, but also giving the Redmond giant a much needed customer satisfaction boost. This was to be expected given that the OS had a flawless launch and all-round positive press. But now that the Windows 7 parties are over and the buzz of using a new OS has worn off, users seem to be focusing on (and maybe even making up) things they’re not happy with.

This shift in attitude towards the OS is easily noticeable. A few weeks ago, positive Windows 7 comments outnumbered negative ones some 20 to one. Now, the ratio is close to one to one.

I don’t think that any of this is a threat to Windows 7, because I think that there’s enough pent-up demand for the OS. It is interesting though to watch how even the shine wears off even the best things. People really are driven by “the next new thing”.

Windows 7 Tweaks – Tweak Home windows 7 Back on Track Easily and Swiftly!

February 9th, 2010 by seimes

Windows 7 Party Signature Edition (2) by Shane's Flying Disc Show

There’s been a flurry of reports in the last week suggesting that Windows 7 is erroneously suggesting that batteries need replacing (and a smaller set of users claiming Windows 7 itself has ruined battery capacity). Microsoft’s official stance on the issue? Every case it has investigated has been a result of a faulty battery, rather than faulty software.

The ability to interrogate a battery and report on its health is a new feature in Windows 7 (though whether it will work depends on the type of machine you have). It’s not surprising that some people react poorly to being told their battery is problematic, especially on a relatively new machine, but Microsoft says on its Windows 7 blog that every case it has investigated has turned up hardware problems rather than a software issue:

Microsoft has received 12 customer service incidents in addition to pulling 8 additional incidents from various forums. To date (for a total of 20 incidents), none of these have shown anything other than degraded batteries.

How have you found battery life in a Windows 7 world? Tell all in the comments.

Windows 7 Battery Notification Messages [Engineering Windows 7]

A little over two months ago, Microsoft released their seventh version of the Windows operating system. After their lackluster operating system release back in early 2007, Microsoft knew that Windows 7 needed to mask the sour taste left behind by Windows Vista. After months and months of testing, millions of beta downloads and ample pre-launch feedback, Microsoft essentially tweaked the existing Vista OS to perfection and enjoyed a product launch nearly two-and-a-half times more successful than 7’s predecessor.

Features

But what made 7’s launch so prosperous? The lengthy beta testing phase had a lot to do with it – Microsoft was well aware that if they were to see a successful launch after Vista, they would need to listen more closely to the consumer’s wants and needs. As you have probably heard over and over in the latest Windows ads, 7 packs an impressive list of features inspired by regular PC users like you and me. Let’s go over a few of these features and why they’re so useful (or just fun in some cases).

Taskbar – With every release, Microsoft feels the need to tweak the Windows Taskbar just a bit (the taskbar is the bar at the bottom of the screen that houses the Start button and program tabs). You are paying for a new operating system, so I guess it makes sense that they keep things looking fresh. It’s my opinion that the taskbar present in Windows 7 is the best Windows Taskbar to date – in terms of both appearance and function. The start button and notification icons receive no major modifications, but the quick launch icons and program tabs have been fused into one to create a dock-style taskbar that rivals that of the Mac OS. Users can pin their favorite applications to the taskbar for quick access at any time.

Snap – How many times have you been working on your PC and needed a way to quickly and effectively compare two documents or web pages at a glance? Windows 7 provides a simple way to do just that. Let’s say you’re doing some computer shopping online and found a couple great deals from two different websites competing for your sale. With Snap, you can open up the products in two separate browser windows, drag the opposing windows to either side of your desktop and Windows 7 will “snap” these products to the left or right side of your computer screen. You can now comfortably compare the specifications of both machines at a glance without worrying about switching back and forth between overlapping browser windows.

Peek – The Peek feature provides users with a quick preview of what an open program or window is doing without actually switching to that particular program. For instance, say you’re working in Microsoft Word, preparing an article for a local news publication. You’ve also got your internet browser minimized in the background running Gmail which is constantly refreshing your inbox awaiting new messages. At any time, without switching from Word, you can take your cursor and hover over the internet browser’s icon in the taskbar. This will temporarily bring your internet browser to the forefront of your desktop, allowing you to quickly scan your inbox for new messages. Once you’re satisfied, you can simply move the cursor back away from the taskbar and Word will reclaim its position at the front of your desktop – all without as much as a click of the mouse.

Performance

While all of these features are fun to tinker with and useful in their own way, what Windows 7 really contributes to the franchise is all hidden away under the hood. Windows Vista was regarded as being one of the bulkiest operating systems to date in regards to system resource consumption. This becomes apparent when shopping for a netbook – the miniature-sized laptops that dominated PC sales in 2009. These tiny mobile computers have weak processors, small hard drives and just enough RAM to accommodate moderate internet browsing, word processing and email use. Up until the release of Windows 7, netbooks were still being sold with Windows XP – the predecessor to Windows Vista – simply because these little laptops couldn’t comfortably run the resource-intensive Vista. Once 7 was released for commercial distribution, netbook manufacturers immediately jumped on the new operating system in favor of XP. It’s worth noting that these netbooks often come with a “Starter” version of the operating system that has had a number of features stripped from its arsenal to accommodate these slower machines. Among these stripped features is the ability to change your computer’s wallpaper. That’s right – plan on staring at the same boring default Windows wallpaper throughout the entire existence of your netbook.

Software

It seems that Microsoft also had the minimalists in mind when updating the additional Microsoft software that often comes bundled with every new installment of Windows. Up until the release of Windows 7, each copy of Windows you bought would include some additional productive applications including Mail, Movie Maker and Messenger. By default, you won’t find these anywhere on your new Windows 7 machine. For whatever reason, Microsoft has decided to offer these add-on applications as a separate free download. These programs have been thrown into a bundle entitled “Live Essentials” and can be downloaded for Windows Vista or Windows 7 at live.essentials.com . The bundle includes a couple brand-new applications including Writer, a publishing tool for bloggers.

Security

Before you download any of the software listed above (or any other software for that matter), it is recommended that you first download Microsoft’s new anti-virus/malware suite, Microsoft Security Essentials. Viruses and hi-jacks have always been an inherent problem with Windows-based machines and up until the release of Security Essentials, fixing that vulnerability was a problem you just had to deal with yourself. Sure, there were already a few free Anti-Virus solutions out there (AVG was my favorite), but these programs were often bulky and were constantly trying to persuade you to upgrade to their paid product. You could say that creating a security suite was merely the right thing for Microsoft to do at this point. After all, they basically created the problem, isn’t it only right that they’re the ones that fix it? But to offer such a simple and lightweight solution at no cost shows that Microsoft is truly sympathetic of the security risks that all of its customers are forced to deal with. The Security Essentials installer can be found at microsoft.com/Security_Essentials .

Although Windows 7 is really just a revamped version of Vista, it is without a doubt one of the most important operating system releases to date. It seems that Microsoft wanted to do more than just provide a new product with the release of 7 – they also wanted to change the way we think about the company and its commitment to the safety and satisfaction of the consumer.

If you have tried every little thing but House windows 7 is still operating sluggish, I extremely advocate you try and use how to fix blue screen bad pool header to maintain your personal computer timely and make your Windows 7 fly once again.

Speedy Windows 7 – How to generate Windows 7 Operate Quicker Quickly and Rapidly!

February 3rd, 2010 by seimes

Windows 7 beta 64 bit by Irman Fauzi

Remember when you first got your new computer and hit the power on button. Man, that thing was fast. Now after shareware downloads and a myriad of programs that you wanted to try out, It seems like it takes forever when its time to restart. This guide will help you get back that once known luster of a quick startup.

Windows Startup folder

The windows startup folder contains programs that are started automatically when windows boots up. Lots of auto update routines and such will be stored in this folder so that they can check for the latest and greatest version, licenses, etc. But it can also contain programs that you don’t use anymore or what’s worse, you may have never used to begin with. Many times computer manufacturers install common programs like Instant Messengers, ISP offers, etc. on new computers. If you don’t need any of these programs, what is the need to start them every time windows starts? Removing programs such as these will decrease boot time. Simply remove the program link from the startup folder and your shouldn’t need worry about the program starting up during boot.

System Configuration Utility

The system configuration utility is accessible by selecting Start > Run > Type “msconfig” then press enter. Now you can control how you want windows to start. To begin, select the BOOT.INI tab. I won’t go into the details about tweaking all of the options as there are downsides to some. But one option that can be changed with very little downside is the Timeout. The timeout box allows time for an OS loader to give choices to the user. Usually this is for selecting a recovery console or for a dual boot system. In any case, the timeout is the number of seconds that windows will display the message. So setting the timeout to 30 means that the message will be displayed 30 seconds. So if it is set on 30 now and we switch it to 3 seconds, which is ample time to press a key on the keyboard for most users. And we cut our boot time by 27 seconds.

Now we can move on to the services tab. Take care when dealing with services, some of them you absolutely must have. For more information on which services you need and which ones you don’t visit SXSecuirty Windows Services Guide for a list of needed services and such.

Now select the startup tab for a list of programs that are started when windows starts. Even if your startup folder is empty, a program can still start when windows boots unless you specifically tell it to do otherwise. Upon first entering the startup tab, you may notice that there are check marks beside every single item. This even includes some items that we may not ever use. For instance, I don’t chat on instant messengers, but for some reason the company that sold me this computer thought I did and installed AIM for me. Very nice for them to do that, but it’s not something I use, nor need. Different computers will have varying programs that startup, and many are unique. You’ll need to look through the list of programs, unchecking the ones that are not needed. Be aware that this doesn’t delete the program; it just stops it from loading when the system is booting. Keep in mind that there are some programs that need to be started when booting windows such as anti-virus.

Once you’ve finished, it may ask you to reboot your system. Go ahead and do it, and see if any of the changes you have made make a difference. You should be back up and running in no time.
